Top tips to prevent your luggage from spoiling a great holiday – we show you how to minimize the impact of a loss and how to enjoy your holiday
A holiday on a sunny beach is heaven on earth. But luggage problems can turn your sunny paradise into a nightmare: you suddenly find that you have no clothes to wear or the medicine that you need so badly is gone.
Following these simple rules can prevent luggage problems ruining your holiday. If you are traveling with the whole family don’t put everyone’s clothes in one case. Take two or three cases, depending on the number of persons, and distribute all the clothes among the cases. If one piece of luggage is lost, everyone will have something to wear.
Distribute prescription medicines among cases and hand bags. You won’t have to stop taking your medicine if one case is lost.
Take a photocopy of your paperwork. It will make everything easier if you lose a passport or a plane ticket.
Write down on a piece of paper the manufacturer and the model of your suitcase. In case it is lost you will be asked to give these details. You can also take a photo of your luggage to make sure you will be able to describe it properly.
Attach labels containing your contact information to each luggage. Â
Attach a colorful scarf to your case, so you’ll be able to identify it quickly on the carousel.
If you find your case damaged find out what the procedure is and report it right away.
Don’t ask anyone to look after your luggage no matter if it’s a teenager or an elderly couple, if they look friendly or if it’s only for two minutes.
